Creating a Landmark and/or Setting Your Home Location
When exploring Second Life, you will find many interesting and exciting places; places (such as OU's island) that you would like to return to or even set as your home location.
The following instructions will tell you how to do this
The best way to visit a particular location again is to create a landmark for the location.
-
To set a landmark for your current location, go to the World menu at the top of the screen
-
There will be two relevant options under that pull down menu - "Create Landmark Here" and "Set Home to Here"

To create a landmark, select "Create Landmark Here"
-
When you do this, a window will pop up with information about the location and the otions "Teleport" and "Dismiss"
-
Since you are already at that location, you can just dismiss or close the window
-
The pop-up window indicates that a landmark to your current location has been places in the "Landmarks" folder in your Inventory
To set your current location as your Home location, select "Set Home to Here"
-
There will be no indication that your home location has been set
-
Once your home location is set, you can instantly teleport to that location by simultaneously pressing the "Control - Shift - H" keys or by selecting the "Teleport Home" option in the "World" menu
-
This is a very good way to get out of any predicament such as being stuck at a location/in an object or to avoid any unwanted attentions by other Second Life citizens (there is no way anyone can follow you to your teleport location).
